Cape-Friendly Landscapes ~ Design and maintenance, mindful of nature

04/25/2023 03:00 PM - 04:30 PM ET

Description

The Brewster Ponds Coalition invites you to join us on April 25th, to hear Kristin Andres, Associate Director for Education for the Association to Preserve Cape Cod, discuss our landscapes and gardens, and how they play an important role in the health of the Cape’s environment. Our choices in what we plant, how we design, and the land care practices we employ all make a difference. Learn about ways you can support pollinators and birds, protect water quality, and create beautiful spaces for your personal enjoyment. There will be time for questions and answers after Kristin’s presentation.

This event will be held at the Brewster Ladies’ Library, 1822 Main Street Brewster, MA, Tuesday, April 25, 2023, from 3 - 4:30 PM.

Pre-registration is appreciated, as seating is limited, and walk-ins are welcome. Admission is free.

About our speaker: Kristin Andres, Associate Director for Education for the Association to Preserve Cape Cod, our region’s environmental advocacy non-profit organization. Before joining APCC as a staff member, she worked for the town of Chatham as its first Conservation Agent for more than 15 years. Kristin serves on several boards and committees, including the Ecological Landscape Alliance, Chatham Friends of Trees, Friends of Chatham Waterways, and the Pollinator Pathway Cape Cod steering committee. She is the regional liaison for Grow Native Massachusetts and an honorary trustee of the Chatham Conservation Foundation. She writes a biweekly column for the Cape Cod Chronicle on natural history topics. Kristin describes herself as slightly obsessed with observing and photographing pollinators, plants, and other wild critters. She’s a native plant enthusiast, promoting the use of native plants in the landscape whenever possible.
